Responsible hunting and outdoor conduct

A good hunter is above all a safe, law-abiding and considerate user of nature.

Safety

  • Always wear high-visibility clothing during group hunts.
  • Handle every firearm as if it were loaded and check the line of fire and background.
  • Follow the hunt leader's instructions and agreed stand positions.
  • Transport and store firearms in accordance with the law.
  • Carry first-aid supplies and know how to call for help.

Laws and permits

We follow the Finnish Hunting Act and decree, hunting seasons, protection rules and any permit conditions. Every hunter must hold a valid game management fee and the required shooting tests.

Landowners

Hunting depends on the trust of landowners. We only move in areas where the association holds hunting rights, respect boundaries and access routes, and report anything unusual.

Respect for game

We aim for ethical, swift handling of game and make sure wounded animals are tracked. Game is handled hygienically and according to good practice.

Other outdoor users

Berry pickers, mushroom foragers and hikers exercising everyman's rights are taken into account. Litter and spent cartridges are carried out of the terrain.
